Rachael joined EDF in the UK in 2000 and has supported the networks, customers and generation business units as well as working as an expatriate for five years in the EDF Group headquarters in Paris. She is a chartered electrical engineer and holds a masters degree in business administration from Columbia University and the London Business School.
Rachael’s roles have focused on business development, strategy and commercial topics across the thermal and nuclear fleet. In her current role, Rachael is responsible for delivering net zero development opportunities in new technologies such as advanced modular reactors, energy storage and hydrogen production.

This Government backed ambitious programme was launched in February 2024 and aims to support the sectors aim to attract more people, particularly in the critical skills areas, and grow the workforce required to deliver the UKs nuclear ambition in defence and net zero energy.
The programme has gained future support and Lynne will continue her secondment from EDF to develop the national strategy and lead the team delivering the programme in collaboration with the whole sector.
Experienced in Marketing and PR, Lynne joined the nuclear industry as part of a start up team that developed British Energy’s B2B business and took it to market leading position. In a move to EDF Nuclear New Build she has lead on the development of regional and national skills capacity and capability solutions as a key part of project delivery and risk mitigation. EDF having successfully achieved approval and investment for Hinkley Point C, she moved on to lead the early socio-economic work on Bradwell B and supported the early work on the investment case for Sizewell C.
Lynne continued to work closely with Government and Industry as she moved to a short term secondment as Director for The UKs Nuclear Sector Deal. This involved identifying critical areas that required cross sector collaboration and bringing people together to work on solutions. This role included support to the Great British Nuclear Taskforce Capability and Capacity sprint team

Cost Nuclear Challenge Director, April 2020 having served as a policy advisor in BEIS
immediately prior to this. In his role he has delivered the business case for the UK Small
Modular Reactor programme securing £235M of HMG funding and matched private
investment in excess of £258M through Rolls-Royce SMR. The project launched in
November 2021 and now employs the over 750 staff directly and the supply chain.
Rich has 35 years of industry experience in nuclear in the USA , UK and Japan. He has
lead operations in senior roles delivering oxide fuels, reactor design and
manufacturing, engineering delivery and supply chain development. He is a member
of the Board of Trustees of the Nuclear Institute and an Advisory Board Member of the
Resource Adequacy Group of the Energy System Operator (ESO). Rich is the proud
son of a Yorkshire Miner.

Clare led a team of over 500 personnel through the most challenging period in Aviation history. Successful leadership of EMA Freeport application. Influencing and guiding local MP’s, 6 local authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships and a plethora of private companies to coalesce around a strategic growth vision for the East Midlands area centred on the airport. She spent 3 years with National Air Traffic Services as the Account Director, leading a team of over 250 people delivering air traffic services across 9 airports with enhanced focus on staff engagement and the establishment of clear communications. Responsible and accountable for operational delivery, P&L performance and business growth of a diverse portfolio of major airport and military contracts. This was preceded with 2 years with Airfield Services Serco, following her retirement from the Royal Air Force, brought in as Director responsible for re-brigade and review disparate portfolio. She rapidly gained trust of direct reports, site staff and customers, and re-gained Regulator confidence through a combination of robust communication forums and change initiatives respectively.
Clare has had a full and extensive career in the RAF with operational duties in the UK and overseas, culminating in responsibility for leading the formation of the Military Aviation Authority. Latterly, at director level, working in operations, major project delivery, strategy, and planning, and in aviation safety and governance. Responsible for internal audit and assurance planning and oversight coordination and audit team priorities and activity.

While based in the United States, she worked on federal government projects to modernise power grid infrastructure across the country and was a policy liaison for FERC working with industry on transmission regulations. In Asia, she was based in Singapore with Wood Mackenzie where she was responsible for energy systems modelling, supply forecasting analysis, and advising energy corporations and national oil companies on their energy transition strategies with a focus on upstream decarbonisation.
She has also worked with energy ministries and regulators across the region on fiscal terms, played an intermediary consulting role between industry bodies and government, and helped banks and private sector energy firms identify investment opportunities across oil, gas, LNG, carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS), and hydrogen.
At present, she leads Grant Thornton UK’s energy transition workstreams, helping clients explore strategic opportunities in the hydrogen and CCUS market. His bedrock has been a career in the Royal Navy Submarine Service. His leadership and teamwork have been tested during an operationally focused career operating as far afield as under the Arctic Ice Cap to the Indian Ocean. He has also worked on exchange with the Royal Netherlands Navy and the US Navy.
His notable military assignments were Captain of the nuclear-powered submarine HMS Turbulent and Commander of the world-renowned Submarine Command Course ‘Perisher’. He was responsible for teaching submarine captains to deal with the challenges of leadership, risk- taking and decision-making in the 21stCentury.
He is chair of the Plymouth Argyle Community Trust which is the largest English Football League charity.

This he has lived and worked on 3 continents (Europe, Asia and North America) with major multinational companies including ICI and DuPont.
